I don't know about you, but I love cooking, from experimenting with new recipes to good old fashioned home cooking like my Nan used to make! In fact, I started to learn to cook at a very young age from my Nan, bless her, unfortunately it didn't rub off too well with my Mum! I cook at home most nights, I enjoy it, it relaxes me, gives me a certain sense of purpose, and guess what? I don't even mind the washing up!

Okay, I have the odd take away now and then as a treat, usually Indian or Chinese, but I will not eat ready made micro meals, they are too expensive and you don't always know what's in them, but the beauty about home cooking, which seems to be becoming a lost or dying art, is that you know exactly what's in it, and you can make it as healthy or unhealthy as you wish, it's also cheaper to by fresh ingredients and make it yourself, especially for a family!

Continuing on the Chinese theme and following a recipe from the same website (link below) I tried my hand at Chinese Cashew Chicken, you can see my effort below. Not bad compared to the take away version I've had in the past and I do like cashew nuts and they made for a nice refreshing change! 😃

This weekend I cooked myself Chicken Chow Mein! I followed the recipe at the link below, I really like this website as they explain it well and it's not as difficult or mysterious as some may think. Here's what mine turned out like and it was delicious!😃
